Established in 1938, the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission was formed to finance, construct and operate the Rainbow Bridge. Today, the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission oversees operations of the Rainbow, Whirlpool Rapids and Lewiston-Queenston Bridges as well the Customs and Immigration facilities on both sides of the border.
